Walmart has been building out its own brand of electronics under the “onn.” brand, and it now has a couple of Android TV devices as well. Like the onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device, which is originally priced at $29.88, now is on sale for $19.88.
You can’t and won’t find an Android TV streaming box for much less than that. Especially one that does 4K.
Now a device that is this cheap, you may be thinking that it’s too good to be true. And well, looking at the reviews, it does look to be a pretty decent device. It doesn’t really compare to the Chromecast with Google TV which is $50, or the NVIDIA SHIELD which is $150, but for a $20-$30 box, it performs as you’d expect.
This is powered by Android TV, so it’s not like those Android TV boxes you’ll find on Amazon that are super cheap. Where they are TV boxes that run Android. Unfortunately, it’s not the newer Google TV, however. So you won’t get those sweet suggestions of what to watch on your home screen.
This TV box does have Google services, which means the Play Store is here, and all of your favorite apps are too. That includes YouTube, YouTube TV, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and much more. So you can stream to your hearts content with this one. And it’ll arrive in time for Disney+ Day on November 12.
There is support for Dolby Audio here, but not Dolby Atmos. That might be a let down for some, but hey, it’s still pretty good audio. And again, we have to keep the original price in mind here. You’re not going to find Dolby Atmos for under $20.
